Rishikesh is all set to host the PATA Adventure Travel Mart and Responsible Tourism Conference 2019 to explore the possibilities and potentials of the state in adventure tourism business. The three day conference kicks off in the city from 13th to 15th February, inaugurated at Ganga Resorts in Rishikesh on Thursday.
The international trade event (ATRTCM) is held under the auspices of Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA). Tourism Secretary Dilip Jawalkar said ” Uttarakhand is proud to host the PATA Adventure Travel Mart and Responsible Tourism Conference, where the state will showcase its huge potential in adventure tourism sector for those associated with the trade from across the country and abroad, as many as 49 stalls will be put up at the mart.
State tourism minister, Satpal Maharaj, said that the event will acquaint them with great potential of adventure tourism in Uttarakhand, besides proving greatly beneficial for the stakeholders in the state. He appealed to the people to make it successful so that Rishikesh is put on the world map for Adventure Tourism.
Union government tourism secretary Yogendra Tripathi, joint secretary Suman Billa, PATA chief executive officer Mario Hardy were present at the occassion. Along with delegates from over twenty eight countries have already arrived in Rishikesh to attend the conference.
