When any part of our body gets burned we run for Burnol but when a person is burned more than 50% can you imagine the situation? A tragic incident of setting a girl on fire took place at Uttarakhand. It is a rising situation that the ‘Devbhoomi’ is now not the same. After rising cases of rape and acid attacks the recent case of the girl who was set afire has threatened people.
The incident took place at Kafolsyu Patti of Pauri Garhwal. Where a 31-year-old man allegedly set afire the 18-year-old girl, due to which she had sustained about 80% burn injuries. Due to her critical condition, she was earlier shifted to Medical College Srinagar, then to AIIMS Rishikesh and later airlifted to Safadarganj Hospital, Delhi. The investigation is going on and accused is already behind the bars.
This incident raised many questions about the peaceful environment of hills. It has raged anger among the ‘calm’ people of hills. Where on one side we all are talking of development in this 21st century but is this the development we all are waiting for? CM said “Government is very strict on cases related to crime against women” but where was that strict police department when this incident took place. Why is there no facility of proper treatment in the hills even after 18 years of a separate state? The harmonious nature of the people of Devbhoomi changing or some nuisance elements have emerged to create the insecure feeling among people? Thousands of questions are in every mind who so ever have read this news but the answers still seem in the dark corner.
