‘It is said that the Earth is an Art and the Photographer is the only witness’ and certainly the town of Rishikesh situated in the lap of holy river Ganga and foothills of the great Himalayas, is adorned with some beautiful naturalistic art. And for the witnesses, Rishikesh is a paradise for emerging photographers and professionals.
There are many people who have some special talents but blessed are those who have the ability to recognize it and make the best use of their skills and only those are able to reach glorious heights in their career and life. Such is the case of Trikansh Sharma, a young and talented photographer in his 20’s living in Rishikesh. He had a keen interest in photography from his childhood and it is the result of his passion and hard work that his photographic works have been published at National Geographic, BBC Earth and few more national and international magazines/forums.
Trikansh Sharma, currently pursuing his bachelor’s degree, shares his love for wildlife photography and nature with Rishikeshlive. As he always took interest in camera and capturing moments from an early age, he bought a Canon 1300d camera with basic lens kit in October 2016 and started to capture almost everything. Trying to develop a special insight and abilities for a perfect click every time.
Gradually, he realized that his ultimate passion lies in wildlife and travel photography as his love for nature knows no bounds. He also added that social media has played a key role in helping him to connect with people of same profession and interest as him. So, from the year 2017 this photographer with camera in his hand and dreams in his eyes, started to spend a lot of time in the wild with a lot of dedication and patience as in the field of wildlife photography, one requires a great deal of patience to get a single perfect click.
According to him, a successful photographer is the one who has a proper knowledge about the subject, it can be through reading books, practical applications or by on field observation. And he believes that he is a constant learner, he tries to learn photography from everywhere: seniors, internet, books and above all his personal experiences. Trikansh also believes that appreciation for his work from people boosts him to perform better every time and in order to keep up with the challenges and trends in photography, he upgraded to Nikon D500 with 200-500mm f5.6 lens.
Recently, he bagged the second prize in Travel category of Camerana Academy Photography Awards 2018, along with his interview being published in the Explore Wild India Magazine in January 2019 issue. Trikansh’s pictures are regularly published in several national and international wildlife magazines such as Paws Trails, Indian Photo Arts, Classic Imazing and several others and he is among the winners of National Geographic travel photographer of the year 2018. And we are sure that this is just the beginning for him as he has a long way to go in representing himself and Rishikesh on international platforms!
